Midnight Shift Bar Renovations to begin

Midnight Shift Bar Renovations to begin

The date has been set for Sydney’s iconic LGBT venue the Midnight Shift to begin its complete renovation of the ground floor bar levels.

The infamous Main Bar will close from Monday 6th October for a period of at least six weeks, during which the smaller ‘Long Bar’ will continue operating seven days a week, with all the entertainment and DJs patrons have come to expect at the Shift. The upstairs club will be unaffected by the renovation process.

Please note the bar will be closed on Mon 6th, Tues 7th and Weds 8th October for preperations to the long bar so it can operate as a standalone bar.

The Main Bar space has long been a cornerstone of the LGBT community, having hosted countless shows and performances by Sydney’s greatest drag queens over the many years its operated. The renovations will usher in a new era for The Shift, with a total transformation of the look and feel, ambience, and use of space.

Stage two of the renovations will commence later in the year, introducing a new separate restaurant and fully functional kitchen to the Shift entertainment complex.

The closing weekend of the main bar features entertainment every night including:

Friday
Friday Night Live with Minnie Cooper & Vanity Faire, plus a special show by Faux Fur & The DFB. DJs Russ & Dan from 9pm

Saturday
Shift Saturdays with Maxi Shield, Decoda Secret & Carmen Geddit, plus DJs Philthy Holster & Magnus.

Sunday
Iconic with special guests Decoda Secret & Birley Shassey. Hosted by Maxi Shield with DJs Dom De Sousa and Russ & Dan.
